WBA welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas outpointed legend Manny Pacquiao to retain his title last August. He took out Billy Joe Saunders in May and saw off Callum Smith last summer but Eubank Jr believes he has what it takes to be the Brit to challenge the great Mexican. Paul did call out pound-for-pound No.1 Canelo Alvarez after the Woodley bout, writing on Twitter: “I hope you’re training”. Paul was supposed to fight Tommy Fury instead of Woodley, although the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson pulled out due to medical reasons. I think that could make sense whether Paul beats or even loses to Woodley. “Tyron Woodley had the power to knock you out; sure, and he’s knocked people out before. I don’t give a damn if it’s an amateur, doesn’t even have to be a pro, just somebody with muscle memory for actually boxing, not somebody like Woodley. I like the fact he has managed to take things away from boxing promoters and shown the boxing world that you don’t have to be held hostage by promoters in order to get fights and make some money.
Pacquiao subsequently announced his retirement from boxing to concentrate on a presidential run in his native Philippines. The Guadalajara native since has won world titles in three more weight classes and become boxing’s best fighter, pound-for-pound, according to most media members and fans. The Mexican boxer already holds three of the four belts. Although Alvarez hinted that he could be interested in as many as three fights this year, it's more likely he returns to the same traditional schedule of May and September fights, which previous PPV kings Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya set the template for. After 2020 with few fights, this year has seen the return of the world's best pugilists in the ring. Canelo Alvarez reportedly got married recently, and the internet has been buzzing with the new revelation for the past few hours. Alvarez then dropped down to 168 pounds and was crowned undisputed champion following victories over Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders and, most recently, Caleb Plant.
Reports later revealed that Billy Joe suffered a quadripod injury, which basically entails a series of fractures in and around the orbital bone. The wedding comes just days after Canelo Alvarez beat Billy Joe Saunders to add the WBO super middleweight title to his collection. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) also confirmed that Canelo Alvarez has indeed married his girlfriend, Fernanda Gomez. On Sunday, the WBO dedicated an Instagram post congratulating the couple on tying the knot. Here we are going to post a selection of the best videos about the fight Saul Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant as soon as the match ends. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has been very busy since he last fought Gennadiy Golovkin. Alvarez's trainer/manager, Eddy Reynoso, surprised the boxing world (and apparently Alvarez, himself) last November when he made a plea at the WBC convention in Mexico for Alvarez to be cleared by the sanctioning body to challenge cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu. Alvarez said Monday at his golf invitational in Naucalpan, Mexico. Despite a fairly ugly build up to this super middleweight unification bout between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant on Saturday night in Las Vegas, it's been all business since fight week began on Monday for both fighters.
After waiting years for a Benavidez-Caleb Plant bout and not having it come to fruition, fans could be clamoring for this fight, too. Ken Hale was six years old when Robert Locke Hale and his wife, Mary Adelaide, moved from Chicago to a ranch in Canelo, Arizona. As far as who he will face, it appears that Alvarez will be facing an old foe in Gennadiy Golovkin. Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez exchange punches during their WBC/WBA middleweight title fight at T-Mobile Arena on September 15, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On occasion, Truax was able to land massive punches to the head of Plant, but he took them well. Targeting both the head and body.
