The 31-year-old has only lost one fight so far in his career and that was to Floyd Mayweather in a Light Middleweight contest that was considered controversial at the time, as the scores handed out by the judges were disputed by many. There are a lot of VPN services out there and I’d like to recommend you to use ExpressVPN. More news soon.” And with that, all expectations of Canelo fighting in September as planned are put to bed. Still, it is frustrating to see fights be cancelled and pushed back as frequently as they are. The fight with Alvarez will see Plant rise several levels in class. Boxing’s undisputed super-middleweight champion is looking to jump two weight classes and win a world title in his fifth weight class. Who do you think has what it takes to be a future world champion? Canelo Alvarez became the first fighter in history to be crowned undisputed super middleweight champion after beating Caleb Plant in Las Vegas at the start of the month and said he would be waiting for "some other crazy thing from Eddy" for his next fight. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face Caleb “Sweethands” Plant in a battle to become the undisputed super middleweight division boxing champion.
Ruiz will face kickboxing veteran Tyrone Spong at a Triller pay-per-view event in July. He began his 2021 campaign with the expected destruction of WBC mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim, who had stepped aside to allow Alvarez to face Smith for the vacant WBC title with the contractual promise that the winner would face him next. Canelo Alvarez takes on Avani Yildirim for the WBA (Super), The Ring and vacant WBC super middleweight title match on Saturday, February 27, 2021 (2/27/21) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. PBC would make the most sense at super middleweight given its deep roster that includes IBF champion Caleb Plant and former WBC champions David Benavidez and Anthony Dirrell. Former WBC champion Benavidez will be a strong favorite over Plant if they fight, and defeat leaves Plant in a perilous place so much different from where he stood last week if they had accepted all of the Alvarez-imposed concessions. His first fight with eight-figure earnings came in 2018 when he made an estimated $15 million for his first super middleweight fight, against Rocky Fielding. He’s got PBC behind him, he’s settled at 168 (unless he doesn’t make weight again), and he’s the clear biggest stylistic and physical threat to Canelo among the fighters already at super middleweight.
