As for a Canelo-GGG 3, it's possible that it will take place in May 2021. Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez told Sky Sports that preliminary conversations about the fight are taking place. The mega fight will be taking place on Saturday 6th November 2021 and should be available to view live and on-demand as part of a DAZN subscription. Manny Pacquiao has likely fought his last fight, and while it wasn't viewed in this way heading into Saturday in Las Vegas, the bout against Yordenis Ugas may have been the passing-of-the-torch moment the welterweight division has desperately needed. Bivol is a really tough fighter and it's going to be a really good fight for Cinco de Mayo weekend with my people in Las Vegas - Mexican weekend. Moises Fuentes. Gonzalez, the former pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, looks to get back on track after losing back-to-back-fights to current WBC champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, including a devasting knockout last September. While the eventual goal of the former champion is to work his way back to a rematch against Alvarez, he candidly admits that a showdown against Benavidez is also at the top of his wishlist. There’s a very good chance that the P4P great will continue to work with both in some capacity going forward.
Although Canelo only signed a two-fight deal with Matchroom, his promotion continues to work with Eddie Hearn and DAZN to put on events in Mexico. Here are the events that have taken place on DAZN in 2021, including a full fight card report of the action. Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant will be going toe-to-toe this November, but how can fans watch the action in the UK? Anyway, we obviously already knew that Canelo and Plant agreed to terms for the fight, but now we know exactly where the fight will air - and if you had any hopes of skirting a paywall you can forget that immediately. If you have been to the MGM you will know that is an long walk. The sides were originally pursuing the bout as a FOX pay-per-view at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Currently tickets prices for the upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant fight on November 6, 2021 in Las Vegas are starting at $959.00, with the average ticket price listed on the secondary market being offered at $1250.00 and a price range of $959.00 to several thousand dollars. In his last fight early this year, Plant landed a total of 179 punches in his dominant, unanimous-decision win over Truax, according to CompuBox stats, including 124 power shots to Truax's 29. Plant also scored two knockdowns in a clear unanimous decision over Uzcategui to win the IBF belt, landing 217 of 707 (31%) punches in the process (CompuBox) when the Las Vegas-based boxer showed he can sustain a fast pace at elite level.
It’s a lot easier for Canelo to fight Plant for the IBF title than it would be against Benavidez. What makes it believable that Canelo used Bivol is that it’s a fight would have been more of a 50-50 match for the Mexican star. The boxing public would rather see Canelo face Bivol than Plant, but it’s understandable why the Mexican star wants to persist with fighting Caleb. With the pound-for-pound star aggregating the WBC, WBO, and WBA 168-pound titles, Plant found himself just one win away from his self-believing prophecy coming true. Canelo’s negotiations with Bivol slowed after the Mexican star asked for a catchweight for their fight. Bivol’s team wanted more training time if Canelo was going to ask for a catchweight. The time may be exactly right if you’re the Canelo team, and the time may be desperate enough to take one more swing at the superstar if you’re the Golovkin team. That’s good for Canelo because it improves his chances of winning. I just care about boxing, that’s it. So that’s how they’re going to look at me. Also, there would be the possibility of Canelo being stripped of his WBA, WBA, or WBO 168-lb belts if he begins capturing titles at 175. Another negative about Canelo going up to 175 is the possibility of David Benavidez capturing the IBF belt by beating Plant.
WBA/WBC/WBO 168-lb champion Alvarez and IBF champion Plant already had agreed on most of the issues for a fight in their previous negotiations. What is likely is that Canelo will become undisputed champion on Nov. 6, with a late stoppage or decision win seemingly a safer bet. But you have to take a big risk to get that big reward, fighting the face of boxing. It would make sense for Canelo to pretend that he was interested in fighting Bivol to get Plant to accept his contract terms. Bivol would have had an excellent chance against Canelo, which is why it remains a strong possibility that the Russian fighter was used as a pawn to get Plant to agree on the terms Alvarez wanted. I'm willing to do it," he says. "It's my job as a fighter and I'll fight whoever as long as they pay me.
