Even so, he divided his undergraduate days between weekend ‘jackpot’ rodeos, studying anthropology, and working on whatever native American languages came within earshot. The next closest throw heading into the weekend is four feet short of the three throwers. Romero reached his feet in time to beat referee David Fields’ count, but Fields stopped their lightweight title fight at 2:49 of the sixth round because of how a disoriented Romero responded to his commands. He would need to beat guys that would have an excellent chance of defeating him. You can’t exactly call them cherry-picks, as they’re technically world champions, but they’re not talented fighters that are a threat to beat Canelo. In other words, Saunders and Plant are what would call ‘Belt-holders,’ and they’re not a threat to Canelo or David Benavidez. If you know anything about the sport, you’ll realize that what Canelo is doing in unifying the 168-lb division would be done quickly by David Benavidez, Edgar Berlanga, Charlo, Andrade, Bivol, and GGG.
If you were to put it to a vote, the boxing public would want him to fight Gennadiy Golovkin, David Benavidez, or Jermall Charlo. The public had been waiting for the confirmation of the fight, after they could not fight in September due to differences in negotiations, but they have already reached an agreement. Alvarez committed to the fight, giving fans another opportunity to see boxing's biggest star in a span of fewer than three months. Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs), 29, of Mexico, boxing’s biggest star, is struggling to find an opponent for May. “Canelo Promotions won’t put on bouts every weekend, but it will be the promoter of Canelo fights - the very biggest fights in the world,” Gregory M. Yarde’s first professional loss came against Sergey Kovalev in 2019, when he put up a valiant effort against the WBO champion out in Russia.
For the superstar to fight that many times, he’ll need to stay injury-free and win all of his first three contests. The first fight between the pair was a close fight with Arthur winning by split decision. In April of 2021 he lost by majority decision to Smith Jr, many seeing the decision as contentious. A contest between Buatsi and Smith is unlikely to be next because Buatsi has only just fought. It looks like Yarde will wait for the winner of Smith Jr and Artur Beterbiev. He said: “I like that. “I don’t think Lemieux was a measuring stick for Benavidez,” Morrell said. If Morrell wins, his seventh victory as a professional will be viewed much the way Morrell assessed Benavidez’s win against Lemieux (43-5, 36 KOs), a former IBF middleweight champion from Montreal. It’s good that Canelo is staying busy, but the fans would prefer that he take on much better opposition than Saunders, Callum Smith, and Caleb Plant. “Now you tell him that’s not the fight to take.
I can fight off the back foot and I can fight off the front foot. This should be a great way for Gonzalez to get back on track. Absolutely not. Harper has time to take a breath, get back to work, and tighten up her defense especially. The WBC title requires to be defended within 90 days so Canelo Alvarez is now ready to take on Yildirim on February 27 after having competed in December. Bivol is undefeated in 19 career bouts and has held the WBA light heavyweight title since 2017, being promoted to WBA super champion in 2019. Since becoming super champion, he has successfully defended the title three times. The Russian boxer was elevated to full WBA world champion in 2017 and he has successfully defended his belt nine times.
